Claiming Creativity and My Artistic Voice
Welcome!
I’ve been an artist my entire life, but I didn’t claim the title “artist” until recently. After pursuing education and career, starting a business, making big life changes and fulfilling a host of roles for those around me, I recognized having left a key part of me behind, my artist side. For so many reasons, one’s I know many people face, I’d limited myself to thinking being an artist was a luxury, a selfish pursuit, or all about meeting standards of productivity or worth.
The simple reality is, creativity is a gift that belongs to us all and an essential pursuit in our humanity. My own practice is valid, it makes me whole, and it is not something for the future. I turned out dining room into a studio space and made a regular practice of showing up to try new things, and explore.
In 2026, I’m returning to college for a studio arts degree. As this new chapter of my life unfolds, my work will be shared here.
